REGISTER FOR GAME ON! VBS!

Grab your megaphones, lace up your cleats, and tune up your instruments! As you fill up the offensive line, sideline, and drum line, you'll realize God has given us His ultimate playbook. He wants us to join His team, train hard, celebrate salvation, and encourage one another. We'll enjoy all that and more! You can use this link to register your children for GAME ON! VBS (one child at a time on the form) that will be held June 24-27 from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.

 

UPDATED VBS NEEDS LIST - LOTS OF VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Thank you to everyone who brought in items for VBS! Here is an updated list of what we need:
Sports stickers - any kind and any sport; stadium chairs (these will be returned to you); Sports pennants/jerseys/jackets/banners/trophies (can be returned to you); mesh bags like fruit comes in; white poster board
We do not need any more wooden clothes pins with metal hinges, water bottles, Pringles cans, or cracker boxes of any kind. We have enough - thank you! All items can be dropped off at Pastor Travis’ office. Thank you!

We need LOTS of volunteers for VBS! If you are in 6th Grade or older you can help! Contact Pastor Travis at 864-244-2975, ext. 121 or by email to volunteer!

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE

2018 - 2019 Scholarship Applications are available in the church office at the Receptionist’s Desk. Please see the application for more details on the scholarship criteria. Deadline for application submission is June 1. Please call LoriAnne Tolbert at 244-2975 for more information.

 

HOME STAY FAMILY NEEDED

Venture International Academy has been informed of 2 Vietnamese brothers with intermediate English skills looking for a home stay family in the Greenville City area. These students will be obtaining their academics at Shannon Forest Christian School and are willing to share a bedroom or reside within their own room. The agency provides the family training and a monthly stipend to help cover costs. Any family interested must fill out an application and pass a background check. If you or someone you know might be willing to open your home and heart to these young men, please contact Julie Pearson, Regional Director of Venture International Academy at 352-978-9520 or by email for more information.

 

TORCHBEARERS SENIOR ADULTS

Please join us for an outing at the Todds’ Lake Lure house on June 2. The outing will include a cook out with boat rides. $5 per person. Please sign up on the sign-up sheet located in the main church hallway with more information and pay fee by May 27.

Also please join us for a Myrtle Beach outing October 8-12. The $209.68 per person double occupancy fee will include accommodations, breakfast, transportation, morning Bible study, evening praise and worship with Dr. Rhett Wilson, previous ERBC member, as one of the speakers. Afternoons and dutch evening meal will be on our own. Please sign up on the sign-up sheet located in the main church hallway with more information and pay fee by May 27 to make reservations.

Please pay the fee prior to the activity to assure your reservation. Please pay fee to Pat Billings in the church office or deposit fee in church envelope with name, event, and amount into secure mail slot beside Pastor’s office or into collection plate. If transportation to the church is a problem for any reason, contact Pat Billings in the church office at 864-244-2975, ext. 125 to arrange transportation. Lack of transportation should not prevent you from attending.

 

WMU ACTIVITIES

The Women’s Missionary Union (WMU) Missionary Focus Group will meet Monday, May 28 at 10:30 a.m. at BJ Smith’s home. All ladies are invited!

 

ID CLASS JUNE 3

The id Class event is an informal and relaxed time for prospective members to learn about the doctrine, stewardship and membership expectations of ERBC. The lunch meeting will be held Sunday, June 3 at 12:00 p.m. in the Library after the morning worship service. Please contact Angela Yeargin at 244-2975 or by email for reservations.

 

3 SPECIAL SUMMER SUNDAY NIGHTS!

June 10: Rick Coram will preach Sunday morning, and Sunday night we will have a fellowship afterward. July 15: The speaker for this night is being secured. We will, however, have a fellowship afterward, and please fill out and turn in the bulletin signup sheets for what you can bring. August 12: Thomas Yeargin will return on Sunday morning and evening to minister the Word to us. After the worship service, we will enjoy a Dessert Fellowship. Evening services will start at 6:00 p.m.

 

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD ITEMS COLLECTION

We are collecting monthly items for Operation Christmas Child to prepare for a churchwide Packing Party in early November. Our items for May are games: puzzles, jacks, matching games, cards, tic tac toe, golf tee games, checkers, dominos, etc. A collection bin is available in the main hallway.

MORE FAMILY MINISTRY INFORMATION

KREED is over for this semester but we will start back up in the fall!

All children and chaperones for summer camps should have already received paperwork for each camp. Please complete and turn in your paperwork along with a copy of the front and back of your insurance card NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY, MAY 30! Also please pay as soon as possible for all camps if you have not done so already!

Wednesday, May 30: “The Talk” - Are you concerned about how to have “the talk” with your children? Come to this class to get some help! 6:00 p.m.

Thursday, June 7: “How to Protect Your Kids” - We will have some special guests here to speak to us on several different safety areas for children/teens. You don’t want to miss it! 6:00 p.m.

 

STUDENT MINISTRIES

SUNDAY: Sunday School in the Student Center at 9:00 a.m.; Combined Worship Service at 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary.

No EQUIP through September 2 for our summer break. Enjoy your Sunday nights with your family!

THE HUB WEDNESDAY, MAY 30: SPECIAL NIGHT at The HUB from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center to kick off the Summer break. We will celebrate with FREE FOOD: Sub sandwiches, chips, and dessert followed up with some dodgeball, basketball and fellowship. Student Ministry will provide all the food. No need to bring anything. This invitation is to all Middle and High School students/student families. Please RSVP to Pastor John by email before or by Monday, May 28 so we know how much food to buy.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 6: MIDDLE SCHOOL FELLOWSHIP at the home of Todd and Karen Bennett, 23 E. Main St., Taylors, 29687. Please RSVP by Monday, June 4 to Pastor John by email. JUNE 11-15: SUMMER SALT CAMP (for those who signed up) for Middle and High School Students 6th-12th Grades at White Oak Conference Center, Winnsboro, SC. Please pray for a safe and Jesus filled week. Pray that we will listen with intent to obey. Thank you!

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 20: Pool Party for Middle and High School Students at Botany Woods Community Pool from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. across the street from ERBC. Girls, bring a dessert. Boys, bring a side item (salad, fruit, baked beans, etc.) but no chips! The church will provide burgers, chips, drinks and everything else needed. Please RSVP with Ginger by or before June 17. Girls, please wear one piece swim suits or a shirt and shorts. Thanks!

College Students and Young Adult Singles: Our Transitions Sunday School Class Summer Bible Study will meet every Tuesday through July 31 at 7:00 p.m. at the Wards’ home at 7 Harding Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. There are a number of items that are currently in our Lost and Found section on the credenza next to the Receptionist's Desk in the Main Office. There are clothes, Bibles, glasses, purses and more that need to be claimed.

MORE KAIROS PRISON MINISTRY INFO

KAIROS Prison Ministry is an ecumenical Christian ministry designed for use in state and federal men's and women's correctional institutions in the United States and throughout the world.

The purpose of KAIROS is to establish a strong Christian community among the residents of correctional institutions. This is done by the presentation of a 3-day short course in Christianity. It is presented by an interdenominational team of about 55 persons for a group of 42 residents. The chaplain carefully selects the inmates from the prison population. The ideal recruits are those residents who are presently the leaders in the institution. There, they become Christ's agents for change in their environment that ultimately can bring about change in the attitude and quality of life for the entire institution.

The primary goal of the KAIROS ministry is to teach those who attend the weekend to become part of a share and prayer group. This allows them to share their lives on deep spiritual level and pray for one-another.

Did you know the largest pantry in SC is right here in Greenville? We see an average of 200 families per day at Harvest Hope's pantry. We need volunteers to help prepare food and serve those in need. THE HEART GALLERY

The South Carolina Heart Gallery is a photo exhibit displayed in the main hallway that features adoptable children from the SC foster care system. Local photographers donate their time and services to photograph the waiting children. The Heart Gallery basically puts a face on the need by letting people see these children's faces in the photos.  The goal is to raise awareness of the need for adoptive families and to hopefully find homes for these kids by letting their personalities shine through the pictures.
