REGISTER FOR GAME ON! VBS!

Grab your megaphones, lace up your cleats, and tune up your instruments! As you fill up the offensive line, sideline, and drum line, you'll realize God has given us His ultimate playbook. He wants us to join His team, train hard, celebrate salvation, and encourage one another. We'll enjoy all that and more! You can use this link by Thursday, June 21 at 12:00 p.m. to register your children for GAME ON! VBS (one child at a time on the form) that will be held June 24-27 nightly from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.

VBS UPDATE

We would like to borrow any stadium chairs that you might have. They will be returned to you after VBS! Please put your name on them and bring them to Pastor Travis.

We still need a lot of sports stickers, please! Bring them to Pastor Travis as soon as possible!

If you would still like to volunteer for VBS, please contact Pastor Travis at 864-244-2975, ext. 121 or by email to volunteer!

2 MORE SPECIAL SUMMER SUNDAY NIGHTS

July 15: The speaker for this night is being secured. We will, however, have a fellowship afterward, and please fill out and turn in the bulletin signup sheets for what you can bring. August 12: Thomas Yeargin will return on Sunday morning and evening to minister the Word to us. After the evening worship service, we will enjoy a Dessert Fellowship. Evening services will start at 6:00 p.m.

WOMEN'S SUMMER BIBLE STUDY

Our Women are so excited to study 2 Corinthians together this summer! The study we are doing is “All Things New” by Kelly Minter. You will need to purchase a copy of this book. There are plenty in stock at Lifeway on Haywood Road. You could also purchase online at Lifeway.com. The book is available at Amazon.com, but it is overpriced there - list price is $12.99.

Choose a group to attend and click below to email the hostess to RSVP:
• Mondays - 7:00 p.m. (contact Karla Partin)
• Tuesdays - 7:00 p.m. (contact Fran Dill)
• Tuesdays - 7:00 p.m. (contact Allyson Hancock)

Our summer studies are very laid back. We know you will have other commitments, vacations, etc. and really don’t expect everyone to be able to attend every session. There is not an official teacher. We have chosen this curriculum and have procured the digital rights to the videos, but your group belongs to you. This is more like a book club where everyone discusses and participates equally rather than having an official “leader.”

FOUNDATIONS OF OUR FAITH CONTINUES WEDNESDAYS

Pastor Aaron continues the Foundations of Our Faith study Wednesday nights in the Student Center at 6:30 p.m. with the topic “The Not So Minor Prophets.” The schedule: June 20 - Joel; July 11 - Hosea; July 18 - Micah; and July 25 - Nahum.

Our next meeting will be an indoor picnic on July 16 with no meeting in June.

Afternoons and dutch evening meal will be on our own. Please let Pat Billings know if you will attend and pay fee by June 17 to make reservations.

If transportation to the church is a problem for any reason, contact Pat Billings in the church office at 864-244-2975, ext. 125 or by email to arrange transportation. MORE KAIROS PRISON MINISTRY INFO

KAIROS Prison Ministry is an ecumenical Christian ministry designed for use in state and federal men's and women's correctional institutions in the United States and throughout the world.

The purpose of KAIROS is to establish a strong Christian community among the residents of correctional institutions. This is done by the presentation of a 3-day short course in Christianity. It is presented by an interdenominational team of about 55 persons for a group of 42 residents. The chaplain carefully selects the inmates from the prison population. The ideal recruits are those residents who are presently the leaders in the institution. There, they become Christ's agents for change in their environment that ultimately can bring about change in the attitude and quality of life for the entire institution.

The primary goal of the KAIROS ministry is to teach those who attend the weekend to become part of a share and prayer group. This allows them to share their lives on deep spiritual level and pray for one-another.

The South Carolina KAIROS website gives much more information, and Ed Chandler will be glad to talk to you further about how you can be involved. Please contact Ed at (864) 244-9153. You can also see a recent Post and Courier article on how KAIROS makes such a difference in men's lives!
