WOMEN'S SUMMER BIBLE STUDY

Our Women are so excited to continue studying 2 Corinthians together this summer! The study we are doing is “All Things New” by Kelly Minter. You will need to purchase a copy of this book. There are plenty in stock at Lifeway on Haywood Road. You could also purchase online at Lifeway.com. The book is available at Amazon.com, but it is overpriced there - list price is $12.99.

There are 3 groups that are meeting this summer in various locations, and you can contact Karla Partin or Sara Raunikar for details.

Our summer studies are very laid back. We know you will have other commitments, vacations, etc. and really don’t expect everyone to be able to attend every session. There is not an official teacher. We have chosen this curriculum and have procured the digital rights to the videos, but your group belongs to you. This is more like a book club where everyone discusses and participates equally rather than having an official “leader.”

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD ITEMS COLLECTION

We are collecting monthly items for Operation Christmas Child to prepare for a churchwide Packing Party. Items for July are tools (small hammers, screw drivers, nails and screws) and sewing kits (needle, thread, pieces of material, small scissors and pre-made kits). MORE KAIROS PRISON MINISTRY INFO

KAIROS Prison Ministry is an ecumenical Christian ministry designed for use in state and federal men's and women's correctional institutions in the United States and throughout the world.

The purpose of KAIROS is to establish a strong Christian community among the residents of correctional institutions. This is done by the presentation of a 3-day short course in Christianity. It is presented by an interdenominational team of about 55 persons for a group of 42 residents. The chaplain carefully selects the inmates from the prison population. The ideal recruits are those residents who are presently the leaders in the institution. There, they become Christ's agents for change in their environment that ultimately can bring about change in the attitude and quality of life for the entire institution.

The primary goal of the KAIROS ministry is to teach those who attend the weekend to become part of a share and prayer group. This allows them to share their lives on deep spiritual level and pray for one-another.

The South Carolina KAIROS website gives much more information, and Ed Chandler will be glad to talk to you further about how you can be involved. Please contact Ed at (864) 244-9153. You can also see a recent Post and Courier article on how KAIROS makes such a difference in men's lives!
